Kazakhstanis are buying Turkish real estate.

Last August, Turkish authorities included Kazakhstan among the 129 countries whose citizens are allowed to purchase property in the land of the Janissaries. The process has begun, reports Express K.

Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom are the leading buyers of Turkish real estate. Citizens of these countries purchased 775, 416, and 365 properties, respectively. Kazakhs, meanwhile, have purchased 57 properties in the past six months.
"The majority of new Turkish property owners are from Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent," says Alexandra Sokolova, . "The descendants of the Janissaries hope that Kazakhstan will become one of the top five countries whose citizens are most actively buying apartments in Turkey. I should note that the process of acquiring and registering property ownership there is very simple. Ownership is absolute, meaning the consent of spouses and other family members is not required to purchase or sell. Foreign home buyers automatically receive a residence permit, and with it, all civil rights."
