A number of international cultural events are held in Mersin. In particular, the "International Outdoor Stone Sculpture Exhibition named after Hüseyin Gezer" and the harvest festivals - the orange festival, which attracts thousands of tourists from around the world.
This carnival procession takes place in early December – the beginning of the winter citrus harvest in the Mersin region. Artists and ensembles from all over the world are invited to it.
The Mersin State Opera and Ballet performs classical music, features chamber orchestras, and ballet and dance shows from around the world, giving concerts.
In 2007, the European Festival Association (EFA) announced the Annual International Music Festival in Mersin in October. Here come opera divas, leading conductors, symphony orchestras, composers and musicians.
Regularly, children's performances, dance shows, opera, and ballet are held at the theater.
