This year, citizens of Kazakhstan can buy 500 apartments in Turkey

In 2013, Kazakhstan will be among the top five countries for real estate sales in Turkey. Analysts predict that approximately 500 apartments will be sold to Kazakhstanis in 2013, reports a correspondent for the business portal Kapital.kz.

"Currently, all the prerequisites are in place; the necessary laws have been passed, and residents of Kazakhstan are interested in real estate in Turkey," explained Alexandra Sokolova, manager of a Turkish developer in Kazakhstan.

Alexandra SokolovaLast year, Kazakhstani citizens purchased 57 properties in Turkey. As is known, since August of last year, Kazakhstani citizens have been allowed to purchase property in Turkey everywhere except the Black Sea coast. Particularly popular among those looking to buy apartments or villas in Turkey are the areas of Antalya, Alanya, Belek, Kemer, Bodrum, and Fethiye.

"Currently, citizens of Kazakhstan can purchase real estate in the name of an individual and obtain a residence permit (RP) for all members of the owner's immediate family. To obtain a RP, you must present a TAPU (property ownership certificate), a passport, and an application to the Turkish Embassy," explained Alexandra Sokolova.

Please note that TAPU registration is carried out exclusively in person on the territory of Turkey.

In 2012, investors from 183 countries purchased 2,578 Turkish properties, totaling 1,162,000 square meters. German citizens accounted for the largest number of Turkish property purchases. 561 Germans owned 775 Turkish properties, totaling 789,000 square meters.

The top three also include British and Russian nationals. Russian citizens own 416 apartments in Turkey, while British residents own 365 properties.
