Yerköprü Waterfall - Yerköprü

Yerköprü Waterfall (in Turkish: Yerköprü Şelalesi): a treasure hidden in the chalk rocks of Turkey.

Hidden away near the Mersin province of Turkey lies a true natural wonder: the Yerköprü Waterfall, a protected natural monument. Its name, translated as "earth bridge," only hints at the beauty that awaits you in this secluded spot. Located north of the village of Kuskan, near Gülnar and Muta, the waterfall seems to emerge from the depths of chalk cliffs that are approximately 110 million years old.

The journey to the waterfall is an adventure in itself. After a recent landslide, the road was reconstructed, and visitors now descend to this natural wonder via a winding wooden staircase of 184 steps, descending from a bridge over the crystal-clear Ermenek Stream, a tributary of the Göksu River. This descent is a foretaste of the beauty that opens from the bridge—a breathtaking panoramic view of the canyon.

Yerköprü is more than just a waterfall; it's an entire ecosystem. Originating in an underground tunnel approximately 250 meters long, the water seeps through limestone rocks, enriching itself with minerals and creating a truly fantastic color. Its water doesn't just cascade down: it flows from a height of 30 meters through millennia-old, moss-covered stalactites.
The park around the waterfall is a lush greenery, winding paths, and crystal-clear air. Numerous gazebos invite relaxation, and springs offer refreshment. Silence and tranquility reign here, broken only by the rustling of leaves and the murmur of water.

What awaits you in Yerkoprü:
