Preparations have begun for the opening of Çukurova Airport, a project the residents of Mersin have been waiting for for 13 years.
It has been announced that Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu will arrive in Mersin on Saturday and inspect the airport.
It was reported that Minister Uraloglu may announce the exact opening date of the airport after the inspection.
MAY OPEN BEFORE TECHNOFEST!
Sources close to the ministry believe the airport will be ready for aircraft landing and takeoff by the Technofest, which will be held in Adana in October.
Accordingly, the ministry's goal is to complete all preparations within three months and open the airport with a ceremony attended by President Tayyip Erdoğan.
