Türkiye simplifies obtaining citizenship for foreigners

The authorities of the Republic of Turkey have simplified obtaining citizenship for foreigners.  

The corresponding decree of state leader Tayyip Erdogan was published in the government gazette Resmi Gazete on September 19.  

The document notes that the fixed amount of capital, which is provided for obtaining the right to citizenship of the Republic of Turkey, will be reduced from two million to five hundred thousand euros. The minimum value of real estate required for foreigners to become Turkish citizens will also be reduced from one million to 250 thousand euros. In addition, the changes affected the clause on providing employment to at least one hundred employees by a foreigner. Now, to obtain the right to Turkish citizenship, it is enough to provide employment to at least fifty employees. The amount of deposits that must be kept in Turkish banks to obtain citizenship will also be reduced from three million to five hundred thousand euros.
